I have completed five children’s books and am currently doing all that dirty work of seeking an agent and finding publishers who might be interested. The works are intended to be picture books with potential to appeal to parents as much as to children. I have ideas regarding illustrations but do not have the talent to bring illustrations about. So stay tuned. I hope to one day be announcing where you can purchase one of more of these books. It is also my hope to write adult material on the topic of all things metaphysical, or perhaps something about parenting special needs children.Really Real For Honest and True is a story of empowerment for a 5 year old cow named Jacob who sees spirits, monsters and ghosts. It is also an effective parenting tool for children who have bedtime fears.Excerpt:“You know,” said his mom “I don’t really know if monsters and ghost are really real for honest and true, but we believe you...I would suppose, that if ghosts and monsters were really real, for honest and true, and they were of a kind that were bothersome and bully-ish like that kid that steals lunch money, they would be made of whispy steam like the kind in the bathroom after your shower, or fluffy like the fog we drive through in the mountains…”Jacob is either a prequel or a sequel to the book mentioned above. It develops the character of Jacob into an accessible, recognizable all-boy who is very proud of being five.Excerpt:“Jacob is 5...he worships band-aids, balloons and allowance. He detests itchy blankets, socks with seams and shirts with tags.”I Remember takes a trip back through time between parent and child and allows a space for families to develop and recall their own stories and memories of growing up.Excerpt:“I remember, when you were small, tiny hands giving backrubs with tons of lotion; a painter’s canvas...I remember, when you were small, so many hugs. Around the knees. Around the waist. Around the neck. The flying tackle.”I Am A Great Discoverer in like fashion of Alexander and the No Good Horrible Very Bad Day, and Where the Wild Things Are, tells the every-day adventures of life with an active, creative and exhausting boy as he grows from baby to man, written with humor and rhythm.Excerpt:“While Mom was helping clean my room we smelled a fearsome stink. Who knew a treasured bird wing, should not have chunks of pink?”Magical South Sea Island I envision as a picture book for adults that allows them a mini break to breathe and regain perspective and has the added benefit that they can read it to their young children since it will be much heavier on visual than on words. I see it containing glossy photos of ocean scenes or highly accurate realistic illustrations. It was inspired by the simplicity of children’s book A Winter’s Day. Given that it will be a picture book with very few words, it would also be a great book for parents and children to share together and perhaps discuss some of their favorite, sacred places.Excerpt:“...My spirit breathes; reclaims its natural cadence. Finds peace. I am light. I am motion. I am reminded: I am a human being...not a doing.” |

“In reality, hell is not so much an intention of God as it is an invention of man. God is love and people are precious. Authentic truth is not so much taught or learned as it is remembered. Somewhere in your pre-incarnate consciousness you were loved absolutely because you WERE. Loved absolutely, and in reality, you still are. Remember who you are!”

“The world is a great mirror. It reflects back to you what you are. If you are loving, if you are friendly, if you are helpful, the world will prove loving and friendly and helpful to you. The world is what you are.”
~ Thomas Dreier ~
“Go out into the world today and love the people you meet. Let your presence light new light in the hearts of people.”
~ Mother Teresa ~
“Humor is the great thing, the saving thing. The minute it crops up, all our irritations and resentments slip away, and a sunny spirit takes their place.”
~ Mark Twain ~ |
