To Brother Richard Linklater and honorable entourage of Waking Life;

We have had the pleasure of seeing your visionary movie on several occasions, and on each of these, saw something of greater depth and meaning. Your creation is truly an outstanding work of art, but this is surely not its' greatest value.

It's interesting to note after viewing the "special features" area of the Waking Life DVD, that the commentaries there did not address the most important part of your wonderful creation. No doubt this is due to mass media or corporate pressures. Surely the most important part of your movie, which is its real purpose far beyond mere entertainment or artistic expression, is the profound message you are conveying to a mass media- brainwashed public. Among the more obvious themes of that message are of course;

1) the encouragement and even guidance of lucid dreaming
2) the total and complete questioning of the status quo, of social programming that is entirely bogus
3) the outright rejection of the false notions of consumerism, religion and corporate mass-control
4) the smooth collaboration between intelligent minds for the sake of mutual improvement, and the improvement of society as a whole
5) the further evolution of the human species as a conscious process
6) the expansion of consciousness, self realization and the greater understanding of reality
7) self as soul, and life as spiritual purpose
8) truth, spiritedness and the gaining of personal power, far beyond the petty and absurd limitations of modern thought

We salute you for the excellentness and desperately needed content of Waking Life, for all of the above reasons and more. These points should have been the main focus of the movie's 'special features' commentaries, because if they were generally heeded by mainstream society, the world would be changed forever and mankind would actually have a good chance of surviving its' own stupidity.

The benefit of the collaboration of like minds and souls is obviously something you're well aware of. We would certainly always be enthusiastic about such collaboration, and the making of friends/community with inspired souls.
