book is filled with new ideas on our roots as hunters.
No person, no writer, ties our evolution to the present
as does Dr. Eaton. In a magical way he demonstrates our
modern day link to our past. It is a history that no rational
person can deny." |

| I
have know Randall Eaton for almost ten years and I find
his research some of the most fascinating in the field.
In his new book, FROM BOYS TO MEN OF HEART, he argues
that to understand hunting is to understand a great deal
about men that has heretofore remained hidden. Even though
I am not a hunter, I am a student of human biology, and
I find this argument quite persuasive. FROM BOYS TO MEN
OF HEART is a penetrating and masterful piece of scholarship
that interweaves at least a dozen disciplines into a profound
theory of male development. Eaton shows us how embattled
our culture has become, how dangerous. He provides an
intriguing formula of recovery, one that harmonizes nature
with male spiritual development. Eaton, with his scientific
background, is uniquely qualified both to expose our culture's
weaknesses and provide clues to our better survival. |
| "Brilliant!...Dr.
Eaton has elevated the subject of hunting to the heights
of true philosophical inquiry and (his book) ranks, in my
opinion, with Ortega y Gassett's Meditations On Hunting." - Tom Dolph, author of Book of the Hunt: A Life of Honor |
| "
New faces in support of hunting...the kids are good...best
work to date." |
| "Should
be provided to huntereducation instructors...a fresh view,"
H. Ted Upgren, President, Outdoor Writers Association of America |
| "Fabulous
job of putting together the truth about hunting." Doug Luger, Safari Club International Foundation |
| "If
ever there was a film showing the value of hunting for kids
this is it...Look at the experts on the behavior of our
youth...Initiating kids into hunting has great value to
society, especially today." Dr. Dave Samuel, Professor Emeritus of Wildlife, West Virginia University |

| Dr.
Randy Eaton came to us billed as an engaging, introspective
and
talented speaker/researcher regarding hunting and, more specifically, hunting as a means to improve the lives of our youth. We are most pleased to say that Dr. Eaton lived up to, and exceeded, all expectations during his participation in the Ontario Federation of Angelers and Hunters 73rd Annual Conference in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Eaton made numerous appearances on some of Canada's most widely viewed news programs, including Canada A.M., CBC Ontario Morning. His interviews with major daily newspapers, including The National Post and Toronto Star, were impressive both in articulation and scope. And, even overshadowing his great appeal to the mass media was Dr. Eaton's presentation to over 400 delegates ...not often that a room of that size can be held with such rapt attention to a single speaker. Obviously, Dr. Eaton's messages are powerful and inspiring. We have absolutely no qualms about recommending Dr. Eaton to any individual, group or organization seeking a top notch speaker with timely and important information that is well researched, documented and highly relevant to every member of Canadian, and, for that matter, North American Society. Why hunting is good
medicine for bad kids.

| Dr.
Eatons program was lively and especially interesting...
well suited for a variety of audiences...entertaining and
educational. Bill Ellison, Principal, Kings Beach Elementary |
| Dr.
Eatons presentation was very well received by our
students, faculty and parents, and became most popular. Patty Fore, Teacher, Kingsbury Middle School |
| ...most
inspiring...far beyond informational... perfectly geared
toward intermediate grade students... Michael Bryant, Teacher, Smithridge School |
| ...He
is amazing!...He has the ability to sit in front of three
or four hundred students of various ages and capture almost
all of their attention...left the children wanting to learn
and know more... Larry Borino, Principal, Incline Elementary |
| "Dr.
Eaton's words resonated deeply with my Hunter Education
Instructors at our recent instructor appreciation banquet
in Vermont. Issues and feelings toward the hunt and the
hunted that we don't normally discuss were exposed and
connections made with our hunting experiences, producing
many "Ah, now I get it" moments for the 200
attentive instructors. Thanks for the inspiring talk,
we look forward to having you back in Vermont." |
| "Dr.
Randall Eaton was the guest speaker at the annual Hunter
Education Instructors seminar in Burlington, Vermont. Dr.Eaton's
vast research of hunting cultures around the world, coupled
with his gift as a profound orator, verified what we feel
about nature, wildlife and our need to teach to the next
generation.
For the first time, after 30 years of hunting and fifteen years of teaching hunter education, the inner feelings that often couldn't be described, were heard clearly. It brought great comfort to understand these deep, inner stirrings are part of an ancient blueprint. He clearly has helped us to step away from the confusion and conflict; to remove the boxing gloves, step out of the ring and stand proud in what it is we feel and do as responsible hunters."
