1. With an Epson PhotoPC 700 digital camera set on macro mode, no flash, standard setting (600x480), just aim at the Fizzy Fractal (when it finally stands still for a moment) and click the shutter button. It's really that easy!
2. Download the images (another easy task).
3. View the images in a graphics management program -- I use Graphic Professional Workshop from ALCHEMY MINDWORKS -- crop them, then scale them down to approximately 225x140. Also create another scaled down version for a thumbnail photo, perhaps 60x50. And by the way, I used Alchemy Mindworks' GIF Construction Set 32 program (a mere $20) to create the great little banner of "Welcome To Fizzy Fractals."
4. Open the photo file in Corel Photo Paint, (or Adobe Photoshop, etc.,) and adjust the brightness, contrast, intensity, and sharpness. This is to compensate for photographing a computer screen and to render the images as true to reality as possible. Then paint on a cool border. (Your opinion may differ as to how cool my borders are.)
5. Save the images at 60 to 65 percent compression to reduce file size. All you Webbies know what a difference it makes to have a photograph download quickly!
Does this sound like a lot of trouble? Not really, once you get the hang of it.
Now here's the payoff for your persistence:
If you want a quick and easy way to print anything directly from your screen -- and I highly recommend printing the Frizzy Fractals for serious conversational art -- download an absolutely FREE program called PRINTKEY**. If you've ever wished you could capture your screen image, (as in "What the heck page am I at in this Web site so I can print it?"), then this is the program for you. If you don't have a digital camera, or if you don't want to take photo shots of your screen and then develop them and go through the scanning process, here's a bonus: you can capture the screen image of a Fizzy Fractal (or anything) and save it to your hard drive with the Printkey program. But beware: Printing the amazing Frizzy Fractals is addicting, and you may find yourself selling all your material goods to purchase new color cartridges!
