They then moved to a cattle outfit in Ruby Valley, Nevada and three years later traded that ranch for the Buttercreek ranch were they presently live.
Their daughter Shannon, and her husband Tim Rust run the Buttercreek place and their son Kirk and his wife Donna have a cattle ranch near Winnemucca, Nevada.  They have five wonderful granchildren which they consider one of their "Hobbies".
They have been married 52 1/2 years and  are sort of retired, but help where they can when needed.
Frank loves to attend the Tuesday cow sale in Hermiston and LaVonne likes to sew, bake and read when time allows.
Frank and LaVonne started attending First Christian Church in 1997 and have been faithful attenders.

Frank and LaVonne were both born in Colfax, Washington; only difference he was born in the hospital she in the front bedroom of the farm home where she grew up.
They both graduated from Colfax high school, Frank in 1950 and LaVonne in 1952.  He attended Washington State University for two years and she attended University of Idaho  and obtained a degree in Music and Physical Education.
Frank and LaVonne married in 1955 and were stationed in Texas and Louisiana for two years.  They were discharged in 1957 and saved their pennies for 10 years then bought a cattle ranch at Jordan Valley, Oregon where they raised a son and
