Outreach News
In an effort to better acquaint the congregation with the ministries funded by FCC, a different one will be highlighted each month. We support both local and world missions in a variety of ways...
Oregon Trail Habitat for Humanity (OTHFH) has received funds from FCC for well over ten years. OTHFH has recently completed it's eleventh build, with our own Richard Bondurant, acting as Project Manager. (See picture on bulletin board)
Oregon Trail Habitat for Humanity is affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International and supports national builds as well as local.
The affiliate has room for one more home on property donated in Umatilla. Currently, there's a possibility of land being donated in Hermiston. This is ideal, as the next homeowner will have a choice of location.
Homeowners must meet the criteria of living in sub-standard housing, give a total of 500 "sweat equity" hours and a $500 down payment on their home. Principal, taxes and insurance make up their monthly payment, usually coming in just under $400 per month.
Habitat is "A hand up, not a hand out."
Volunteers are needed, both on the Executive Board (no experience needed) and for the next build.
