Tiny Tears!

My opinions on The 1950's Tiny Tears dolls
Made by the American Character Doll Co.

By Anne Fosnot

My history goes way back with Tiny Tears dolls as my first encounter was when in 1954 we bought one for our first child. I loved them then and still do, 52 years later.

The one we bought was the Molded hair, Rubber bodied doll, she was so sweet, and smelled like a real baby. She had all of her little accessories and was in a box, not a trunk. ( They were more expensive).

Just to show you how much I loved the Tiny Tears dolls, I really talked my first child into one, as I practically did a brain wash job on the child. You see my first child's name was Phillip, and as you may have guessed, a boy.

These dolls are so popular that they are bringing big prices today, as so many Baby Boomers are recalling, and trying to relive their precious childhood. And although I'm not called a Baby Boomer, I lived and raised my child through that era. I feel the same as they do about this precious doll, that brought so many happy hours of play to so many children.

I marvel that there are so many of them still around since they were a play toy, and not totally infallible
