CITY OF ELGIN, OREGON
RESOLUTION  1078 (2000)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL PROPOSING TO 
ANNEX THE CITY INTO THE RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT


WHEREAS: The City of Elgin and the Elgin Rural Fire Protection District share a common
building and common firefighters, and;

WHEREAS: There is a duplication of some administrative functions in maintaining two separate
entities, and;

WHEREAS: Combining the two fire departments into a single agency will provide improved
operations of both departments without compromising the mission of either;
     

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That the City of Elgin, in accordance with ORS Chapter 478 and ORS Chapter 198.866, proposes
annexation of the City of Elgin into the Elgin Rural Fire Protection District for the purpose of
receiving fire protection services from the District, and;

Be it resolved that upon annexation of the City into the District, the City of Elgin will convey to
the Elgin Rural Fire Protection District all of the City Fire Department Vehicles and firefighting
equipment, and;

Be it further resolved that this stated proposal be conveyed to the Board of Directors of the
District.
