CITY OF ELGIN, OREGON
                    RESOLUTION  1043  (1998)


     A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING THE GENERAL FUND CONTINGENCY
                   TO FIRE DEPARTMENT CAPITAL

WHEREAS; Fire Department Capital Expenditures of the General Fund
has had expenditures greater than anticipated in the purchase of a
fire truck; and

WHEREAS, Limiting these expenditures would adversely effect the
operation of the City Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, The General Fund has adequate contingency resources to
cover these expenditures;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that contingency funds are
appropriated as follows:
     General Fund Fire Department Capital Expenditure increased by
     $7,000, reducing the Contingency Fund by $7,000.
