CITY OF ELGIN, OREGON 

                     RESOLUTION  1025 (1997)
    A RESOLUTION MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO THE BUDGET COMMITTEE 

WHEREAS:  It is required by law that the city council appoint budget committee
members in equal number to the number of members of the city council, and;

WHEREAS: Appointments are for three years with a portion of the members
appointed each year, and;

WHEREAS: There are three appointments to be made this year, and; 

WHEREAS: There is one resignation requiring appointment to fill the vacancy to
the end of the term, 12/31/1997, and;

WHEREAS:       Chris Reis                               ,               John
McElravey            , 

          Glenn Clark                            , and        Susan McMurdo  
                          are 
eligible voters of the City of Elgin and have expressed a desire to serve;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That          Chris Reis                              ,     John McElravey    
                         ,

and           Glenn Clark                         are hereby appointed to the
budget committee for three year terms expiring December 31, 1999;

and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:

 That,            Susan McMurdo                           is hereby appointed
to fill the vacated term expiring 12/31/1997.
