CITY OF ELGIN, OREGON 

                    RESOLUTION  1000 (1996)
   A RESOLUTION MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO THE BUDGET COMMITTEE 

WHEREAS:  It is required by law that the city council appoint budget committee
members in equal number to the number of members of the city council, and;

WHEREAS: Appointments are for three years with a portion of the members
appointed each year, and;

WHEREAS: There are two appointments to be made this year, and; 

WHEREAS: There are two resignations requiring appointments to fill the vacancies
to the end of the terms 12/31/1996;

and WHEREAS:  Kathy Southwick and Dennis Cross are eligible voters of 
the City of Elgin and have expressed a desire to serve;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That Kathy Southwick and Dennis Cross are hereby appointed to the budget 
committee for three year terms expiring December 31, 1998;

and WHEREAS, ________________ and ______________________ are eligible 
voters of the City of Elgin and have agreed to serve out terms that has 
been vacated, 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:

 That, _______________ and _________________ are appointed to fill 
vacated terms expiring 12/31/1996.
